Pinguicula kondoi is a Mexican butterwort with quite a bit of controversy surrounding its identification. P. kondoi was first described in 1971, but some thought it should be synonymous with P. reticulata based on a set of dried specimens examined several years later.

P. kondoi was first described in 1971, but some thought it should be synonymous with P. reticulata based on a set of dried specimens examined several years later. Today, the debate remains open with many believing P. reticulata should be the proper ID.
